Davao Doctors College (DDC) is a private and nonsectarian academic institution in Davao City in the island of Mindanao, Philippines . It was established in 1975 by Cristina Rivero Casiño, who also became its first director, and was first known as Davao Doctors Hospital School of Nursing (DDHSN). Back then, a three-year basic course in Nursing was the only course offered. It was incorporated by a group of medical doctors in response to the urgent demand for nurses in Davao Doctors Hospital, of which the college is a subsidiary company. Mrs. Casiño, who had a master's degree in nursing from Columbia University, with the help and support of the hospital board, slowly expanded from initially a one-classroom school to a well-known school in the city. After expanding its curriculum, it officially became Davao Doctors College in 1981.
Davao Doctors College is also one of the six academic institutions in Region XI with Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) accredited programs by the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) as of December 2011.
