The University of San Carlos (USC or colloquially shortened to San Carlos) is a private Catholic university in Cebu City which is administered and managed by the Society of the Divine Word since 1935. It offers a Montessori preparatory academy, Basic Education, 80 Undergraduate, and 85 Graduate programs, with a broad spectrum of academic disciplines through its 8 Schools and 27 Academic Departments.
USC has been considered as the de facto premier university in Cebu. It is ranked top five (5) nationwide and top one (1) in the Visayas and Mindanao with the most number of Centers of Excellence (7 COEs) and Centers of Development (12 CODs) awarded and recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) as of December 2015. USC is also one of the top 10 leading universities in the country ranked by the International/World Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) rating among the top 300 universities in Asia as of 2014 (USC is the lone Cebu based university and one of the 2 universities in the Visayas regions that were cited as among internationally recognized and world class universities in the Philippines).
New Era University (NEU) is a private educational institution in the Philippines, run by the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC). Its main campus located at No. 9 Central Avenue, New Era, Quezon City, in the Central Office Complex of the INC. It has several branches around the Philippines, including one in San Fernando City, Pampanga, in Lipa City, Batangas, in General Santos City and soon in Santa Maria, Bulacan.
The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (Filipino: Politeknikong Unibersidad ng Pilipinas; abbreviated as PUP and commonly known as PUP Main, PUP Sta. Mesa and PUP Manila) is a coeducational, research state university located in Santa Mesa, Manila, Philippines. It was founded on October 19, 1904 as the Manila Business School, under the Division of City Schools – Manila as the city's business school. PUP is also known as the country's 1st Polytechnic University.

The University of the East (Filipino: Pamantasan ng Silangan) also known as U.E, is a private university located in Manila,Philippines. It was founded in 1946. Lucio Tan acquired the university in 1990. UE was once labeled as the "largest university in Asia" once having an enrollment of over 60,000 students.

San Beda College (Spanish: Colegio de San Beda) and (Filipino: Dalubhasaan ng San Beda) is a private Roman CatholicBenedictine college run by the Benedictine monks in the Philippines. It is located in Mendiola, Manila, for college and Taytay, Rizal for Elementary and High School. It was founded in 1901 primarily to "defend the Catholic battlements in the field of education. San Beda, which was known then as El Colegio de San Beda, started as an all-boys grade school in Manila. It has since then expanded to a full college with both undergraduate and post-graduate degree offerings. It has two other campuses: the San Beda College-Rizal (the largest San Beda campus in size) and the San Beda College Alabang (formerly known as St. Benedict College and Benedictine Abbey School) located in Alabang Hills Village in Muntinlupa City. San Beda College Alabang however is autonomous from the other two San Beda campuses and has its own set of administrators and officials. The San Beda Graduate School of Liturgy in Manila, meanwhile, traces its academic roots and origins to the Paul VI Institute of Liturgy in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.
Colegio de San Juan de Letran, (CSJL, Filipino: Dalubhasaan ng San Juan de Letran, colloquially, "Letran") is a private Roman Catholic Dominican institution of learning located in Intramuros, Manila, in the Philippines. The college was founded in 1620. Colegio de San Juan de Letran has the distinction of being the oldest college in the Philippines and the oldest secondary institution in Asia.
